Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

VetCPDLibrary is a small, independently-run project, owned and operated by Valerie (the "data controller" for the purposes of UK GDPR). This page explains, in plain terms, what personal data is collected here, why, and what you can do about it.

What this site collects

Browsing and using VetCPDLibrary, including the Browse page, filters, CPD Roulette, and Upcoming & Live, does not collect or store any personal data about you. There are no accounts and no cookies on this site.

We use GoatCounter to see anonymous visit counts, such as how many people visit the site and roughly where from. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you individually, and doesn't collect any personal data.

The suggestion and report forms

Two forms on this site ask for an email address, and in both cases it's entirely optional:

The Suggest CPD form, in case a follow-up question is needed about your suggestion, for example if a link or title needs clarifying.

The "Report an issue" form attached to individual entries, in case we need to ask for more detail about a broken link or error you've reported.

If you leave the email field blank on either form, your submission is still received normally.

Both forms are built on Airtable, the database tool this site runs on. Airtable acts as a data processor for this information, storing it on our behalf under its own security and compliance practices. Airtable may process data outside the UK; where it does, this is covered by Airtable's own data transfer safeguards, details of which are available in Airtable's own privacy policy.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the monthly newsletter, your name and email address are sent to and stored by Brevo, our email newsletter provider, who act as a data processor for this information under their own privacy policy. Signing up requires an explicit opt-in checkbox, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

How long data is kept

Submitted email addresses are kept only as long as needed to review and, where relevant, follow up on a submission, and are deleted after that unless there's a good reason to keep them longer, for example an ongoing conversation about the submission.

Your rights

You can ask, at any time, what data (if any) is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted. Email hello@vetcpdlibrary.com and this will be actioned promptly.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk, if you believe your data has been handled improperly. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right directly first, but this right is yours regardless.

Third-party links

Every CPD entry in this library links out to a third-party provider's own website. Once you leave VetCPDLibrary to view that content, you're subject to that provider's own privacy practices, not this one. See also our Disclaimer for more on third-party content generally.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles data ever changes meaningfully, for example if paid content, accounts, or donation processing are introduced in the future, this page will be updated to reflect that.

Questions

Any questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@vetcpdlibrary.com.
